Charley Crockett, who released two albums last year through his Son of Davy label, has announced a new album titled Lonesome Drifter set to be released via Island Records on March 14, with the title song dropping on Friday. Co-produced with Shooter Jennings, the album was recorded at Los Angeles’ Sunset Sound over 10 days in a live setting with minimal overdubs. “Shooter and I barely talked about it,” Crockett explained. “I just brought all of my guys out, and the album made itself. It was live without a lot of overdubs. There were no inhibitions. I wasn’t being judged, and I didn’t feel self-conscious. Shooter knew how to cut loose and let this thing unfold.” (Pitchfork)
